NAD+ therapy program for clinics and med spas

Offer NAD+ under your own brand, with licensed prescribers, a licensed compounding pharmacy and claims kept within the rules.

An NAD+ therapy program lets a clinic or med spa offer NAD+ under its own brand while licensed prescribers decide who receives it. MDLaunchr supplies the intake, prescriber review, coordination with a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy, and follow-up. NAD+ is not an FDA-approved drug, so the program is built around FDA's compounding limits and the FTC's rules on health claims.

Who it's for: Med spas, IV and wellness clinics, concierge practices and longevity brands adding NAD+ to their programs.

What the program covers, and what you own

Clinical review

MDLaunchr provides: Licensed prescribers review each patient's history and decide whether NAD+ is appropriate.

You own: Nothing clinical. Who receives NAD+, and how, is the prescriber's decision.

Pharmacy coordination

MDLaunchr provides: Prescriptions sent to a licensed 503A pharmacy that confirms its basis for compounding NAD+.

You own: Saying plainly that compounded NAD+ is not FDA-approved.

Administration

MDLaunchr provides: Telehealth covers the consult, prescribing and follow-up.

You own: Any in-person administration at your location, which follows your state's rules on who may administer.

Follow-up

MDLaunchr provides: Scheduled check-ins that go back to a prescriber.

You own: The membership or package structure patients sign up for.

Brand

MDLaunchr provides: Your name, look and domain on every screen the patient sees.

You own: Your brand, your website and your marketing.

Advertising claims

MDLaunchr provides: Program pages written to the same rules this page follows.

You own: Every ad and post, which must not promise energy, cognitive or anti-aging results without evidence.

How a patient moves through the program

  1. 1A patient finds your brand and starts intake online or at your location.
  2. 2They complete a health history and telehealth consent.
  3. 3A licensed prescriber reviews it and decides whether NAD+ is appropriate, and in what form.
  4. 4If prescribed, a licensed 503A pharmacy compounds it for that patient.
  5. 5Follow-up check-ins go back to a prescriber before each continuation.

How a launch runs, step by step

  1. 1Decide where NAD+ fits: a standalone program, part of longevity, or alongside in-person services. (You)
  2. 2Confirm in writing how the pharmacy compounds each NAD+ product under section 503A. (MDLaunchr, with the pharmacy)
  3. 3Confirm who may administer at your location under your state's rules, if anything is given in person. (You, with counsel)
  4. 4Set up the brand, the domain and the program pages. (You and MDLaunchr)
  5. 5Have your claims reviewed before anything runs. (You, with counsel)
  6. 6Confirm prescriber licensing in each launch state. (MDLaunchr)
  7. 7Launch, then review intake and follow-up every week. (You and MDLaunchr)

The pharmacy confirmation and the claims review take the most time. Recheck the pharmacy's basis whenever FDA updates its bulk substance lists.

The compliance limits for this program

NAD+ is not an FDA-approved drug

Compounded NAD+ has not been reviewed by FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality, and FDA has told telehealth companies not to say or suggest that a compounded drug is FDA-approved.

Its compounding status needs checking

A 503A pharmacy may compound from a bulk substance only on one of three bases: a USP or NF monograph, a component of an FDA-approved drug, or a listing on FDA's 503A bulks list. In a 2019 proposed rule FDA proposed not adding NAD to that list. Nominated substances are tracked in FDA's category lists, so confirm the pharmacy's basis before launch and on every update.

Energy, brain and anti-aging claims need evidence

The FTC expects health claims to be backed by competent and reliable scientific evidence. Claims that NAD+ restores energy, sharpens memory or slows aging are health claims, and so are results in testimonials.

Licensing follows the patient

A prescriber generally must be licensed in the state where the patient is located at the time of the visit.

Patient data needs business associate agreements

Vendors that handle protected health information for the practice are business associates and need written agreements.

Questions operators ask

Can a clinic offer NAD+ through telehealth?

Yes, when a licensed prescriber decides each patient is appropriate, the prescription goes to a licensed pharmacy that can compound it, and the marketing follows FDA and FTC rules. Telehealth covers the consult, prescribing and follow-up.

Is NAD+ FDA-approved?

No. NAD+ is not an FDA-approved drug, and compounded NAD+ has not been reviewed by FDA. Your pages must not say or imply that it is approved.

Can a 503A pharmacy compound NAD+?

Only on one of the bases section 503A allows. FDA proposed in 2019 not to add NAD to the 503A bulks list, and nominated substances are tracked in FDA's category lists. Confirm the pharmacy's basis in writing before launch.

Can a med spa add an NAD+ program?

Yes. A med spa can offer NAD+ under its brand with a licensed prescriber making each decision. Anything given in person follows the state's rules on who may administer it, which differ by state.

What can I say in NAD+ ads?

Describe the program: who reviews patients, how it works and what is included. Claims about energy, cognition, recovery or aging need competent and reliable scientific evidence, and that includes results in testimonials.

Do I need to be a clinician to run an NAD+ program?

No. The brand owner makes no clinical decisions. How the business is owned is set by each state's corporate practice of medicine rules, so confirm the structure with counsel.

Can NAD+ sit alongside longevity and peptide programs?

Yes. NAD+ can run as its own program or as part of a longevity program on the same platform, each with its own prescriber review and compliance limits.
